Well, Easter has come and gone, and what a great time it was! It’s the only time of the year where as Christians we, so to say, have Jesus’ Death in our faces!

But the death of my Jesus was not the only thing that died that day!

Watching, a woman’s whole future, her dream, her trust in her God, her trust in her personal prophetic word from God, her understanding of God also died, and for her it was worse, because it was her Son that was hanging there on the tree! Cursed!

When the angel visited Mary 33 years before that day, she was promised a Messiah whose throne would rule forever (Luke 1v33). How was she supposed to process and make sense of her Son’s death when she had a word from God’s Himself that He was to be called the Son Of God.

Mary was NEVER told that a death and a resurrection would all be needed to fulfil her prophetic word from God!

Through Jesus life, she kept all that Jesus did in her heart.
Every phase of Jesus life, Mary held on to that word whilst watching Jesus’ life unfold.

Mary kickstarted Jesus ministry by telling him to turn water into wine. Then she watched His ministry grow when He preached on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, when the healings started, when He fed the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fishes.

In her mind the next order of steps was the throne of His father David, not the death on the cross!

Mary had been chosen by God after God’s Word had been silent on earth for over 450 years. Her favor lay in the fact that her family had continued to teach their descendants God’s Word which is reflected in her reply to Elizabeth – pure Word quoted!

Most of us start doubting God if God has not spoken to us for a week, let alone to have our offspring be found faithful after God not speaking to us for 450 years!

Even though Mary kept everything in her heart, she still did not understand Jesus teachings:
Jesus said “unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone: but if it dies it produces much grain” (John 12v24)

Many of us are given personal words like Mary received. And we go through times where we doubt and most of all, we do not understand how God is going to make this word come to pass, but we need to understand God’s ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts.

Mary is the only person who witnessed the birth, the life, the death, the resurrection AND the ascension of Jesus.

Many times we are required to live through a crucfixion to qualify as a witness to the resurrection! Don’t give up after the death! Trust God to fulfill all He has promised!

  1. Can’t wait for it!!!! I agree , I’ve been part of both sides and I must say its much more exciting to receive my own word and live my own life and focus on god’s plan for me and how I can influence others in a way that they can also experience it,… Vs gossiping about others! Just not that satisfying than to explore what God has for me!!!

  2. It is hard knowing God has made a plan for your life but you dont know how hes going to fulfil the word he has given you. Its also hard knowing that you dont really have a say without disobeying the word he has placed in you. God works through the strange

    1. Hello Believer

The responsibilty of knowing that God has a plan for our lives and in not obeying what God has told you to do are 2 of the biggest responsibilties we can ever learn. Realising that you are not obedient to Him if you are not doing what He has told you to do, is a large portion of your battle won. What has worked for me in the past, is keeping my focus on “the prize that lies before us”. If your desire is to hear “Well done good and faithful servant” it puts the focus on been obedient right into pespective!

In Acts 13:22 God says we are a people after His own heart if we do all His Will.

      Acts 13:22
22 “And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’

Please be encourage to know it is a aspect of living a Godly life that most Christians battle with.
Be encouraged and may God openly reward you and pour out favor on you in your obedience!

  3. Once again you enlightened my eyes with understanding! On the otherside can you imagine how frustrating it must have been for her to try and convince all the gosippers that her son was really from the holy spirit! I am sure the devil put doubt in joseph’s heart and asked him are you sure she did not sleep with another man … Do you buy this holy spirit story that she is telling you? That must have been a really proud day when her Son raised from the dead and went up in heaven!!! And became King of Kings…. Far above all that she ever asked or thought!!!

    1. Hi Madelein

An interesting perspective to the story! That’s the amazing thing about God’s Word, there are so many multiple fascets of revelation upon revelation, and the beauty of it is it keeps the Word of God alive in us!

The devil did get to Joseph as Matt 1 indicates. But God in His awesomeness also gave Joseph his own prophetic word to hold onto. Joseph needed his OWN revelational word from God to enable him to raise and love Joseph as his own son.

      Matt 1:19-20
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

You have touched on an aspect that warrants an extra look at. Are we part of “the gossipers” or are part of the group that receives a personal Word from God and “need to go through the fiery trials created by the gossipers”

Maybe been a gossiper can prevent you from receiving your “own revelation Word” from God? An interesting dynamic to explore!

Hmmm, I feel a new blog churning in my spirit …..LOL
